Troop 101 Leadership Biographies
Youth Leaders
  • Martin McNichols
    Martin McNichols, SPL
    Martin McNichols has been involved in scouts since the 2nd grade. He has been to numerous scouting functions including National Youth Leadership Training. Martin has also been to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden, Philmont Scout Ranch, the Bahamas Sea Base, and Many Point. Martin is a dedicated scout, has achieved Eagle Scout, and will help any scout that asks for or shows a need for help.
  • Leif Olson
    Leif Olson, ASPL
    Leif hail's from northern Iowa. He moved to Monticello in 9th grade and has been a wonderful addition to our troops leadership team. Leif brings a diverse and unique perspective to the youth of our troop. Leif interacts wonderfully with the scouts in the troop and has participated in numerous high adventure programs. Leif also enjoys acting and marching in the band at school.
  • Bennett Abide
    Bennett Abide, QM
    Involved in scouts for many years, Bennett has had many experiences. He has staffed National Youth Leadership Training and been to Philmont Scout Ranch. Bennett enjoys Ultimate Frisbee and wants to become a geneticist. Bennett is very dedicated to scouts and has achieved scouting's higest rank.
  • John Huntly
    John Huntly, Scribe
    John is actively working towards achieving his Eagle rank. He is currently a Life Scout and actively works to make the troop a welcome and inviting place for all. John has been involved in scouting since 7th grade and has a younger brother following in his footsteps. Outside of scouts John enjoys running both Cross Country and Track for the High School team. John has been to and won state for Cross Country.
Adult Leaders
  • Chris Huhn
    Chris Huhn, SM
    Chris Huhn spent his youth in scouting at National Youth Leadership Training. There he excelled and shared his leadership knowledge with many youth. He then attended West Point Military Academy. He had a long and prestigious military career and spends time volunteering as a BSA adult leader.
  • David McNichols
    David McNichols, ASM
    David grew up playing baseball well and other sports enthusiastically. He dreamt of a son to carry on his interest in all things sports. Instead he was blessed with his son Martin. Martin, blessed with slow foot speed and inadequate coordination excelled at scouting. Mr McNichols happily gave up his dreams of playing athletics with his son and joined the troop as ASM.
  • Liam Fury
    Liam Fury, Chair
    Liam Has been involved in scouting his whole life. He very much enjoys the time he spends with his troop and always takes time to help the scouts in his troop. Liam also enjoys spending time with birds outside of scouting and is a falconry afficianado. Liam achieved Eagle Scout as a youth and has two kids pursuing the same goal.
  • Georgia Denham
    Georgia Denham, Treasurer
    Georgia became involved in scouting as a girl guide in England. She spent her time rising through the ranks of the English guiding organization in her youth and then moved to Minnesota with her husband. Today she is treasurer of our troop and share the cultural differences between scouting in Europe and here in the United States of America. She enjoys much time outdoors and attends every campout with the troop.
